Half-blind dovetails are usually used for drawer making and with solid wood. Additional templates allow you to create other types of joints as well, like box joints or through dovetail, all in two joint sizes.
You can shape workpieces up to 610 mm wide using the FD600 jig or make more consecutive joints up to this width. With the basic template for a 12,7 mm wide half-through dovetail joint, you can joint materials 11-25 mm thick.
The maximum and minimum workpiece thickness varies with the template type, it depends on the type and width of the joint.

Use the robust pressure post to fix the workpiece to the jig, fit with selected template, set the depth of routing and shape the selected joint using a guide bush in your router.
We also recommend purchasing the Universal Clear Router Base FRB170, this base is fitted on the bottom of your router instead of the original base.
The Universal Base is necessary if your router base doesn't support the supplied guide bush. This base includes a centring cone for gripping in the 8 and 12 mm collet, this helps you to centre not only the base itself but also the guide bush directly into the shaft axis.
If the guide bush is not aligned properly, the joint will not be accurate as the router will move incorrectly along the jig.
We recommend reading the Instructions supplied with this jig, both the jig and the workpiece have to be precisely set to achieve an accurate joint.
