About IGM and CMT Router Bits
There is an overwhelming variety of router bits on the market. Each of them has specific parameters that determine their suitability for particular applications. Our woodworking e-shop IGM offers a wide range of high-quality router bits with long service life, precise cutting edges, and top-notch workmanship. Thanks to our extensive selection, you’ll easily find the perfect bit for your project.
IGM Router Bits
All types of our IGM router bits feature tough bodies, durable construction, and perfectly sharp edges. The cutting inserts, with hardness levels ranging from HV10 1240 to 2350, are sourced from prestigious manufacturers Ceratizit and Tigra, who prioritize quality and are global leaders in their field.
Brazed IGM Bits
Brazed IGM bits with red Teflon coating are ideal for everyday craftsmanship. Thanks to the high-quality materials used, they stay sharp much longer, and when they do dull, they can be resharpened several times without issue.
In our assortment, you’ll find several types of bits categorized into series from M100 to M142. Within each series, we offer various sizes suitable for daily woodworking tasks. You can read more about the basic classification of brazed router bits essential for any woodworking shop in our article 5 Main Router Bits for Everyday Tasks.
Flawless Construction
Every IGM brazed bit goes through an automated production process that minimizes defects and deviations. They are precisely balanced and sharpened, which ensures top performance and a clean cut without burrs or material burning.
Long Lifespan
The red Teflon coating on the bit’s surface protects the tool from corrosion, reduces friction, and improves resistance to chip, glue, and resin buildup. As a result, the bit stays clean and sharp much longer.
High-Quality Cutting Edges
The blades of IGM brazed tools are made from high-quality tungsten carbide with exceptional durability. The hardness of the cutting inserts ranges from 91 to 93.5 HRA, and their thickness varies from 1 mm (for the smallest bits) to 2 mm (for all other standard sizes). This allows for multiple resharpenings, significantly extending the tool’s life and enhancing cutting quality.
IGM Router Bits with Reversible Knives
Router bits with reversible knives are the best tools you can get for your workshop. They provide high-quality machining across all types of materials. Thanks to the ability to rotate or replace the blades, they offer the longest lifespan of any router bit type.
In our e-shop, you’ll find a selection of different bit types categorized into series from F041 to F062, each available in various sizes. They are suitable even for the most demanding projects. Learn more about router bits with reversible knives in our article The advantages of reversible knives over solid brazed edges.
High-Quality Materials for Top Performance
We have been developing router bits with reversible knives since 2000 with a focus on material quality. We use high-strength, tough alloy steel that guarantees unmatched body durability. The premium blades come from leading European manufacturers, ensuring exceptional cutting quality and long-lasting sharpness.
Unique Blades for Versatile Use
The bits are equipped with blades featuring two or four cutting edges that can be rotated up to three times. Once all edges are dull, you simply replace the blade with a new one. Depending on the material being machined, you can choose a softer or harder blade to maximize its lifespan.
Spiral Router Bits
Thanks to their design, IGM spiral router bits allow for faster feed rates and more efficient work. The one-piece solid carbide body with embedded spiral cutting edges improves both tool life and cutting quality compared to traditional bits, making them ideal for industrial high-load environments and CNC routing.
Depending on the helix direction, they are classified as up-cut, down-cut, or compression, and typically feature 2 to 4 spirals. You can learn more about the differences between these types in the video.
Diamond Router Bits
Teeth made from synthetic polycrystalline diamond last up to 50 times longer compared to standard HW cutting edges and can be resharpened 3 to 6 times. DIA bits allow for higher feed speeds and reduce unproductive downtime needed for tool changes and setup. They are primarily used for routing large panel materials, industrial production, and CNC machining.
CMT Orange Tools Router Bits
Brazed bits with CMT’s signature orange Teflon coating are suitable for both professionals and beginner woodworkers or hobbyists. They feature perfectly sharpened carbide blades, an orange protective Teflon coating, and a wide range of bit types for various tasks. As for their characteristics, the same qualities apply as for IGM bits.
