We sand truckloads of plywood with the JET 22-44 OSC sander...

The LASER DEKOR company was founded 7 years ago and quickly grew up and extended its laser cutting options. Almost four years ago, they were looking for ways of sanding laser-cut plywood. And because of the size of the material, they weren't able to use a belt sander. That is why they have stumbled upon the JET 2244OSC Oscillating Drum Sander.

We have been given a tour through the company by Mrs.Turek, who actively follows the current technologies and methods of woodworking and knows all the odds and ends of each machine, that is why she picked the sander herself. Mrs Turek needed a JET machine that would be able to sand off laser burns from plywood. The main problem was also the size of parts she needed to surface. She was looking for a machine able to sand 5-6 cm pieces from 3 mm thick plywood. The JET sander fulfilled all these requirements perfectly.

At the time of the purchase, the machine was supposed to be casually used and wasn't expected to be worked in any other way. However, after a year of surfacing with the JET sander, the company received its first large-scale contract and had to sand a truck-load of plywood.

Today, the workshop runs 5 lasers simultaneously to fulfil all the contracts and they also still sand with the JET 2244OSC Oscillating drum sander, which manages all the work. It's true that they are currently thinking about buying another one. The regular servicing and maintenance of the machine kept it in good condition. The most serious problem was a simple replacement of the conveyor belt motor and a replacement of bushings on a roller. All other parts are original and fully functional.

"I can truly recommend the JET drum sander. It's amazing how much work it has already done with minimum maintenance. I never thought that the machine would be so reliable. We don't sand large things in our workshop so one could think the sander isn't used too much, but the opposite is true. We are a sheltered workshop so there's a continuous variation of part-timers and other workers. The machine operates daily and is used by someone throughout the whole day. You could say the machine is used as much as in a permanent rental and it still works as a professional machine."
