Milling machines, drills, saws, and other woodworking machines were operating at full capacity from early morning. On Friday, May 16, 2025, the first edition of Tool Day took place at the IGM headquarters in Tuchoměřice, attracting dozens of visitors. You had the opportunity to see our top-quality tools and machines in action, examine them up close, touch them, and try them out yourself. And we had a great time with you.
Machines and Tools in Action
Despite unfavorable weather, dozens of woodworkers and woodworking enthusiasts gathered in the IGM showroom from early morning. At the stands in the adjacent courtyard, the latest woodworking tools, machines, and accessories were available to touch and try out. There was no shortage of eager participants! The handy FD300 dovetail jigs, FKP656 and FKP900 drilling jigs for easy doweling of furniture, as well as jigs for drilling hinge holes and many others, attracted significant interest.
Shortly after the event began, the gathering of spectators revealed the main traditional attraction of our event. Master turner Jirka Hurych started the engines of the Laguna Revo lathe to carve the first grooves into the prepared ash log. He provided interested attendees with tips and tricks on spindle turning and soon encouraged them to take the chisel and try it themselves. The scent of wood filled the air, sawdust slowly covered the spectators, and everyone was excited.
CNC Milling Was Breathtaking
Nearby, woodworking influencer Paul Saliba showcased his skills, known to social media visitors from his profile @woodcraft.cz. He was accompanied by Filip Bartoš, author of the Instagram profile @woodatelier.cz. Under their guidance, the fascinating CNC milling machine carved intricate structural decorations into the solid wood panel.
On the table next to them, other works by Paul were also exhibited, whose production could be seen in videos on the Instagram profile @woodcraft.cz. Paul presented impressive reliefs of a dragon or a floating crocodile, as well as a shell-shaped jewelry box. All the wooden sculptures rightly garnered admiration.
We Brought Joy
We brought you joy multiple times. Free refreshments in the form of cakes and sandwiches were prepared for all visitors. A raffle was drawn three times during the day, in which every visitor could participate for free and win a wide range of prizes—from woodworking-themed T-shirts to the precise CMT 7E plunge router. Additionally, visitors could purchase all IGM products with a special 15% discount.
In summary, the first IGM Tool Day was a great success. We thank everyone who came. We hope you took home new equipment, ideas, inspiration, and the desire to work in your workshop. We and our customers had a great time during the first IGM Tool Day and are already looking forward to next year. We would be delighted if you join us again next time.
